2013 Aurora Awards - "Best of Show"
December 09, 2013, Digital Chop House (DCH) is pleased to announce yet another win for our collaboration with the ProPel Pictures & LDS Church. The 2013 Aurora Awards "Best of Show" goes to "Safety Through Planning and Relying on the Spirit", produced by Chris Clarke, Patrick Parker, edited by Tom Laughlin.
2013 Telly Awards - Bronze Award
May 04, 2013, the LDS Church and DCH win a "Bronze" Telly Awards for their LDS Church short documentary "Capo Verde: Land of Light". It was produced by Garett Batty (director of "Saratov Approach") and Joe Sines, and co-edited by Tom Laughlin (DCH). The short documentary features the history of the LDS Church in Capo Verde, and the recent growth and establishing the first LDS Stake in the region. Interviews were from some of the first members of the church and missionaries who traveled and served there. Press Release
2013 LDS Film Fest honors "A Reel Legacy"
Digital Chop House filmmakers screened their film "A Reel Legacy" at the 2013 LDS Film Festival. A "Q & A" immediately followed the screening. Utah Film Commissioner Marshall Moore wants DCH to do a similar documentary for the State of Utah, to help promote Utah's film history, feature Utah's landscapes and film resources. Project is slated to start filming in April 2013-2014, starting interviews with Gerald Molen, producer of Schindler's List and Jurassic Park, and James D'Arc, acclaimed film history author of "When Hollywood Came To Town".
2011 Telly Awards - Bronze Award
Michael Fullan's acclaimed "Motion Leadership" won a 2011 Bronze Telly Awards for outstanding educational documentary series. The documentary series was produced by Michael Fullan (Ontario) and the School Improvement Network. Segments feature schools in Canada, California, and Hawaii showing academic gains and success. Camera work by Matt Kjar and Tom Laughlin (Digital Chop House).
2014 Telly Awards - Winner of 2 Silver Awards
March 24, 2014, ProPel Pictures and Digital Chop House takes home 2 "Silver" Telly Awards for "Safety Through Planning and Relying on the Spirit". Shot in Mesa Arizona, this film features the true story of a boy scout troop surviving horrific monsoon near Havasupai Falls.This training film was produced by the LDS Publishing Services Department and Christopher Clarke, Director & DP Patrick Parker, with Lead Editor Tom Laughlin (DCH).

May 11, 2013, the Digital Chop House was honored at Utah's 2013 "Best of State" Awards for their LDS Church documentary "A Reel Legacy: The History of Judge Whitaker and the BYU Motion Picture Studio" produced by Tom Laughlin (DCH), LDS Church and BYU, and features the life and films of former Disney animator and LDS film-making pioneer Judge Whitaker. This film also took home 'three' 2012 Aurora Awards, including Platinum 'Best of Show' for Editing. DVD available here.

2012 Mormon Media Symposium honors documentary "A Reel Legacy"
November 22, 2012 - Brigham Young University symposium honors and celebrates the rich film history of the LDS Church, with the premiere and special screening of the documentary "A Reel Legacy". Special guests included family members from Judge and Scott Whitaker's families, some traveled in from Arizona for the screening. Several filmmakers who worked with Judge and Scott were also present including: Peter Johnson, David K. Jacobs, John Linton, Pete Czerny, Karl Wesson, and Dennis Lisonbee.
